About Landon.

Landon with his family

Family

Landon’s family has lived in Michigan since before statehood and arrived in Eaton County shortly after. His sixth great-grandmother is buried in Union Cemetery in Oneida Township. Landon’s parents, Jackie and Justin Kilgore, are actively involved in Oneida Township – Jackie is the township clerk, and Justin is the Deputy Supervisor and Chairman of the Planning Commission. They are also owners of a small business within the township. It is from their instilled values that Landon is fighting to serve his community.

Community

Landon has lived in Oneida Township his entire life. Landon played in Delta Township youth sports, was a local Cub Scout and Boy Scout, and has always volunteered in the community. He is a proud graduate of Grand Ledge Public Schools, where he actively led the bowling team, nonpartisan political engagement, and served as National Honor Society President.

Landon graduating

Landon attended Monmouth University, graduating with honors in political science and economics. Landon also served as the Debate Team Captain, researching healthcare, national defense treaties, carbon reduction, and antitrust policy. This culminated in writing his award-winning undergraduate honors thesis analyzing Michigan electoral outcomes.

Afterward, Landon completed a Master of Public Policy program at the University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. Landon was the youngest student in his class and focused on local government, public sector economics, and public management. He also worked on research for state leaders looking at potential electoral reforms in Michigan.
